Paris Hilton appears as Marilyn Monroe for Tease fragrance launch pictures

Although I'm not a huge fan of Paris i do love Marilyn Monroe and i have to give it to Paris, she knows her Fragrance's and her shoes. so congrats to her on another fragrance!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Many people have bad hair days, but one that cost $35 million? Not even Paris Hilton could do that -- at least, that's what she says.

Lawyers for the hotel heiress and socialite on Thursday said they "will pursue all of our defenses vigorously and any potential counter claims" against a company that sued Hilton for $35 million claiming she broke a contract to wear its hair extensions.

One day earlier, Beverly Hills-based Hairtech International Inc filed its suit alleging Hilton, a member of the family that founded the hotel chain bearing her name, broke a contract in 2008 when she wore a rival company's extensions.

Hairtech also blamed Hilton for missing a product launch party in 2007 because she was in jail, and said her failure to appear cost the company $6.6 million, according to reports.

Hairtech declined to comment on the lawsuit.

The suit caused headlines around the world as the media seized upon it as a way to tease the wealthy heiress who has acted on TV and in movies, and endorsed products ranging from jewelry to apparel, cosmetics, perfume and hair products.

Hilton's personal life has long been fodder for the tabloid press, and she has had her share of troubles with the law, including a reckless driving arrest and probation violation.

More recently, she has adopted a lower public profile, although she remains a staple on red carpets around the world and is active as a celebrity endorser. Just this week, she was out in Hollywood promoting her new perfume, Tease.

Justin Bieber Named New Face of Proactiv

What do Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Jessica Simpson have in common?

They're all Proactiv spokespeople. Bieber, 16, is the newest celeb face of the acne brand.

"Justin has teamed up with Proactiv to build 15 schools in 3rd world countries with Pencils of Promise!" his rep tells UsMagazine.com.

"I'm definitely someone who suffers from acne. I'm a teenage boy! ... So I use Proactiv so my face doesn't get like that. Proactiv is a great thing!" the "Baby" singer touts on Proactiv's website.

According to the acne company, Bieber's reps reached out to them to get involved.

Adds Bieber, "My parents got acne when they were growing up. And I'm determined to keep myself clear. If I got a face full of breakouts, I would definitely feel really self-conscious and not wanna do photo shoots, not wanna be singing. With Proactiv I don't have to worry."

"Some people might say: 'Justin Bieber? He doesn’t have acne, why is he doing Proactiv?' But, you know, it's about preventing getting acne. Proactiv is the way to go. It just makes you feel so much better about yourself."

Bieber shot his first ad in the middle of his "My World" Tour.

Ooh la la! Jennifer Aniston goes topless in ads for her new Lolavie fragrance

Jennifer Aniston has turned up the heat for the debut of her new fragrance.

In a series of sexy black-and-white shots to promote her new scent, Lolavie, the 41-year-old actress looks stunning as she poses topless, covering her chest with just her arms while wearing nothing but a white skirt hung low on her hips.

Aniston is slated to attend the launch event for Lolavie, which roughly translates to "laughing at life" in French, on Wednesday at Harrods department store in London. She will be on hand to sign the bottles for customers, London's Daily Mail reported.

"It's been a year-and-a-half journey," Aniston previously told WWD. "I'd been asked to do things before, and it never felt organic. But when Leon [Falic, president of the Falic Fashion Group] approached me to be involved with the process from inception to fruition, I thought, 'This could be a creative expression.'"

"It wasn't just about showing up for a shoot and putting my name on the bottle," she added. "I felt like a little chemist. It's turned out to be an extension of myself as opposed to slapping my name on something."

Aniston also had a hand in how to promote the product: The steamy ad campaign was reportedly shot in her favorite vacation destination in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Wanting the fragrance "to be a personal library of scent memories," Aniston came up with a smell that she called "sexy and clean … floral but not too flowery."

"I am not a big perfume-y fragrance fan," she explained. "I want people to go 'what is that? You smell great!' But most of all, I wanted it to smell natural."

About fragrant beginnings

This article might be very boring lol i couldn't find an interesting one that i haven't already done.. i was also looking for an article on scents maybe which are the most popular/ which scents attract certain ppl, maybe i will have more luck next week.

Visualise this. As the sunlight filters through the windows, the fragrance of incense sticks wafts through the living room. Many people would vouch that this is one of the best ways of beginning the day. Incense sticks are a common motif in several religions across the world. To that extent, incense sticks have religious-aesthetic connotations in many cultures.

Fragrant incenses are made by blending several solid scented ingredients into a paste and then rolling that paste onto a bamboo core stick. These incenses usually contain little liquid scents. Charcoal incense is made by dipping an unscented “blank” into a mixture of perfumes and essential oils.

Tibetan incenses are thought to have medicinal properties.

Their recipes come from ancient Vedic texts that are based on Ayurvedic medical texts. The recipes have remained unchanged for centuries.

Throughout history, various materials have been used in making incense. If sage and cedar were used abroad to make these incense sticks, sandalwood is the most popular among all the flavoured incense sticks in India. It one of the most calming incense ingredients and lends itself to meditation.

Incense sticks are believed to be as old as mankind, which find mention in the Old Testament and New Testament. Frankincense was one of the gifts that the three wise men gave when Jesus was born. Ingredients like myrrh, jasmine, bamboo sticks and sandalwood used to make incense sticks were found in abundance in India.

Sanskrit texts mention agarbattis offered during meditation.

The concept extended to places like Egypt, Japan and China. Monks believed it frees them of negative energy. Once Buddhism became popular in Japan, the demand increased.

Sandalwood, rose, jasmine, cedar, amber, frankincense and myrrh are among the aromas which give spiritual fragrance to agarbattis. At a glance, lavender has a calming effect, sandalwood helps fighting depression, rose radiates energy of love and myrrh uplifts emotions.

In terms of practical usage, incense sticks help in getting rid of odours. Probably that’s why they are used in funerary ceremonies because incense could smother the scent of decay. Incense made from materials like citronella can repel mosquitoes.

Today, manufacturing incense sticks has become a handicraft industry.

Bruce Willis Fragrance to Hit Stores Today

I know you’ve all penned this day in your calendars, I know I’ve been waiting for this day a long time: Today, LR Health & Beauty Systems is debuting squinty tough guy Bruce Willis‘ “signature collection,” which he created in partnership with the German beauty company.

“I personally feel that the new Bruce Willis fragrance is the manliest scent in the world,” said Tilo Plöger, chief operating officer of LR Health & Beauty Systems. The Willis scent reportedly contains notes of grapefruit, pepper, and vetiver.

First announced in April, the collection includes hair and body wash, deodorant, aftershave balm, and eau de parfum–which clocks in at ~15% aromatic compounds compared to eau de cologne’s ~5%–since naturally, badasses need to smell strongly of badasses.

According to United Networker, Bruce Willis told reporters at the press conference in Frankfurt “with great enthusiasm” that “the development of my new fragrance together with the very committed and passionate LR team was really a lot of fun. The products stand for individuality, uniqueness and sustainability. That’s what convinced me, and what unites me with LR.”

The design of the perfume bottle, in the classy yet intrepid, indomitable, macho, rugged style expected of Willis, incorporates a huge metal badge which adorns “the exceptionally high-quality glass flacon,” which apparently is “heavy in the hand,” because John McClane would never use lightweight perfume bottles, damn it! And of course, the packaging mimics “brushed aluminium and embossed riveting

Victoria’s Secret Bombshells

Which girl doesnt lover Victoria Secret! psshh i know i do and i can never get enought of the bras, panties.. and even the pink line i love how they have those seasonal team outfits like the dodgers and angels..UCLA and USC. soo yeah too cute.

Victoria’s Secret has gone above and beyond mere branding: primetime fashion shows, affordable lingerie that has everyone from tweens to grandmothers picking through the racks, jet-setting angels, pink yoga pants, the only set of familiar faces in which “catalog” is synonymous with “supermodel,” 5 award winning fragrances—including all of the sets of scents you've collected over the years). Indeed, Victoria’s Secret(and the Giseles and Adrianas that come with it) has been able to target just about every demographic. And with the release of their newest fragrance, Bombshell, the winged retail chain is quickly becoming a heritage brand. It may also have something to do with Rosie Huntington-Whitely, the particular bombshell repping the new perfume.

0
diggs
digg Heritage brands create an aura that includes personality, social status, and history. When a customer buys a heritage item, they’re buying into that story. Victoria’s Secret has been smart in selling their brand this way, creating a narrative that’s further solidified with the release of their 8th fragrance, Bombshell. Judging by their product definition and their advertisements featuring Transformers 3 star Rosie Huntington-Whitely, it’s one that seems closest to their brand identity. And with fashion’s interest in a curvier silhouette—Lara Stone as a youthful Bardot, Bianca Balti bringing back Sofia Loren’s Italiano swagger—it seems like the perfect time to introduce a scent that recalls a more glamorous world of larger-than-life dames.

Wikipedia explains the origin and definition of bombshell:

“Bombshells are a special kind of sex symbol. Bombshells are popular icons recognized for their curves, sex appeal and larger than life personas. The term carries an implication of a voluptuous female sex icon. Some icons of popular culture who have widely been referred to as a “Bombshell” include Jean Harlow, who starred in the 1933 film Bombshell, Marilyn Monroe, Diana Dors, Jayne Mansfield, Mamie Van Doren, Jane Russell, Ava Gardner, Brigitte Bardot, Kim Novak, Sophia Loren, Ann-Margret, and Raquel Welch.

During World War II, “Bombshell Girl” referred to the “pinup” girls who were painted onto the sides of WWII planes, bombers, and their bombs. Such photos are now readily available on the internet and historical archives. Carefully maintained machinery was referred to with terms of endearment. The military allowed artists to create such work for amusement and recreational viewing in order to help boost morale for the pilots and other military personnel.”

To Victoria’s Secret, Bombshell by definition means:

“Strong and beautiful, with sex appeal to spare. A bombshell is bold and confident. Powerful, positive, and playfully unpredictable. A bombshell lights up the room with a wink and a smile. Glamour, mischief, drama—she loves it all. Because being a bombshell is about more than just a look, it’s an attitude—a sexy energy that comes from the inside.”

Who wouldn’t like to be called a bombshell, whereby, who wouldn’t want to shop at VS to become one? Nevermind the mass-produced cotton panties and drones of college-aged chicks strong-arming their way passed you for a peek at the yoga pants that spell “PINK” across the bum.

Whatever your feeling on what some might call another ‘drugstore mall brand,’ their positioning seems to be in the right place: they are making bank, and their name is as recognizable as ever. This is, in part, due to their carefully mapped out fragrance empire. If you look back through VS’s fragrance history—from those sticky-sweet middle school sprays, to your more recent lotion purchase—there’s always a girl, an icon made to symbolize the time period and trends during that specific period.

1991: Victoria
The fragrance empire begins with a gold and purple bottle.

1999: Dream Angels Heavenly
With a tanned and tawny Gisele in a set of feathery white wings, perched nude atop a white horse, the brand heralded their first blockbuster fragrance. It won a FiFi for Fragrance of the Year.

2001: Victoria’s Secret Pink
FiFi winner for Fragrance of the Year, the younger, collegiate crowd gravitated towards this new lifestyle brand, in which models like Alessandra Ambrosio looked cute and cozy in sweats and cotton panties.

2003: Very Sexy For Her
Again winning the FiFi Fragrance of the Year award, this line strived to created a rift between the cutesy Pink following, and those seeking sexy at VS—truly rounding out their multifaceted image.

2004:Very Sexy For Him
No awards here, just an excuse for men to shop while waiting for their girls to shop for lingerie—as if this excuse was necessary.

2009: Sexy Little Things Noir
Another FiFi Winner, this fragranced played upon the boudoir look with a vixenish Adriana Lima in dark lingerie and cascading black hair.

2010: Bombshell
Fruity, floral, and playful—VS tries to capture every facet of the biz with this well rounded and sexy scent.

The Sweet Smell of FA

Ever drive by IN N Out and all of a sudden have a big craving for their foods. its all in the secret of advertising and i have to say bravo! because it really does work sometimes.

What happened to food aromas? Not the ones they talk about in those TV commercials badly dubbed from the original German, the ones where a blonde yumzy mumzy stalks her family with an aerosol, spraying furniture, teen trainers and pets alike to ‘remove lingering odours.

No I mean the smells that used to greet you when you walked into a restaurant, the ones that got your tummy rumbling and the gastric juices going. These days walk into any top level London restaurant with your eyes closed and you might well think you were in an office block or a dry cleaners.

Of course the powerful extraction hoods in the kitchen are partly to blame. They suck so hard that chefs’ aprons flap up like chorus girls’ skirts every time they walk past, and while extractors may make the kitchen a bearable work place they kill the atmosphere in the main room.

Supermarkets employ a system that sends the bakery smells down pipes to appear at the front door, thus luring in the punters. Well the better ones do anyway, the pile ‘em high sell em cheap’ places don’t bother with such psi-warfare, the prices do the luring for them. They could perhaps pump the smell of cheap vodka though, that seems the most popular choice amongst their clientele.

Why don’t restaurants do something similar? A vent over the front door wafting garlic out into the street would surely get diners queuing up in no time; their noses up in the air like the Bisto Kids.

The terrible thing is that even if they did, the dishes served inside all too often have no aroma anyway. The times I’ve painfully bent down until my nose was buried in the plate to try and detect some olfactory clue are legion. Yes I am the man over at the corner table apparently about to snort his meal like a gastro Keith Richards.

The sense of smell as much as sight, prepares us for a meal. A perfect work of art on the plate with no aroma is about as stimulating as looking at a picture of the dish. It might work with porn, but not with food.

Heston Blumentahl famously employed a perfume atomiser to spray fish and chip shop smells around the diner in order to enhance the pleasure of the food. The vinegar from the pickled onion jar was apparently the key ingredient. Not a bad idea, but surely it would be better to simply make the food smell enticing in the first place?

No such problems at Galvin Bistro in Marylebone. There the smell of great food hits you straightaway. So much so you can’t wait to get to the table and get stuck in. Maybe that’s why we are being besieged by so many new Bistros this year; they aren’t gastro temples of tat, they’re places that you go to eat in again and again where food is fun and part of a social experience.

It’s time to celebrate smell again and give the elbow to sterile plates of food fit to be nothing more than pictures on a wall. Wake up and smell the garlic!

Confessions of a Spray-Tan Artist

I remember when holly wood went through their spray tan stage. i should say the orange stage because everyone was super orange and called it a glow it was pretty ridiculous if you as me. some people wont mention names * cough* jersey shore cast* cough. are still in that tanning stage.

Dealing with celeb tantrums, supermodel cellulite, and horn-dog men — it's all in a day's work for this woman. Brace yourself as she spills her candid, colorful stories. As told to J. Courtney Sullivan.

Unlike tanning booths, which offer some degree of anonymity, there's no room for modesty here. Everything's done by hand, so I have to be all up in people's business. Not surprisingly, I've seen and heard things that would make even a bronzed girl's cheeks turn red — celebrity tantrums, overexcited men, and skinny stars with bad cases of cellulite. But nothing fazes me.

Grin and Bare It

Since I see clients when they're most vulnerable (in a paper thong and under bright lights with all their wobbly bits showing), I'm as much a shrink as a spray tanner. I can't tell you how often I have to reassure slim girls that, no, their rear isn't the size of Texas.

Women love to know how they stack up: "Do I have more cellulite than every one else? Am I hairier than the average woman?" Sometimes, the degree of self-loathing saddens me. I have some clients who keep their pants on and only get their upper bodies sprayed because they can't bear to show their legs. I tell them that it's foolish to compare yourself to an ideal that doesn't exist. One of my clients is a thin, young model whose body needs as much concealing as the average client. Photos are airbrushed!

Most women calm down once they realize how much I'll be able to help them. I can put a tiny triangle above the breasts to create cleavage, shade a bit of darkness under the butt for extra lift, or conceal cellulite by using a slightly warmer color on the backs of the thighs. It's all about subtlety. But the requests have gotten more specific and outlandish. They want amazing definition sprayed onto their muffin tops. I attempt to persuade them to be more realistic. My average client is a normal, pear-shaped woman with thighs and a butt. If I were to paint a six-pack on her, it would look ridiculous! But that doesn't stop them from asking, and ultimately, I have to try to give them what they want.

Less Is More

As sunless tanning grows in popularity, I see more fake-tanorexics. They've lost their grasp on what looks natural. To them, the darker the better. Let me tell you, it's scary. No matter what your skin tone, you should never go more than two shades deeper. A spray tan only lasts about five days, and if you're too dark, you'll look like you have dirty, marbled skin when the color starts to fade. But some clients just don't care.

The irony is that some women who go overboard are so put-together in every other way — their highlights are flawless, their makeup is wonderfully applied. All control vanishes when they're staring down the barrel of a spray-tanning gun. I think most of it stems from the fact that a tan makes you look instantly slimmer.

Stars fall victim to this because they're under so much pressure to be skinny. So the thought process is The darker I go, the thinner I look. That's why so many celebs look like Oompa Loompas. That orange look comes from too many applications.

What's more, hands and feet end up looking freakish. The chemicals settle into the grooves of the skin and leave horrendous dark marks. But a lot of actresses and TV anchors are obsessed with their hands and insist that they look as tanned as the rest of their body. With out fail, I'll get a call the next day from their makeup artist saying, "You've got to help us!" I've used cream bleach to lighten some spots, but you have to be cautious. I used too much once and left a big white patch on a TV anchor's hand. Needless to say, she wasn't happy.

Down and Dirty

Though we've worked out a lot of kinks, spray tanning still comes with some sticky consequences. Anyone (and anything) you rub against for eight hours will get streaked with tanner. Sometimes my clients go home to show off their tans to their boyfriends, and you know how one thing leads to another.

Many women wonder whether the formula will wind up in their private parts, and that would never happen with a good tanner. If it does, the dye won't do you physical harm. But you'll know it's happened because it'll smell like something died down there.

Drama Queens

If you're looking at a celebrity, you're looking at a spray tan. In the last month, we've worked on several movie actresses and pop stars. So a big chunk of my business is house and hotel calls. Their publicists insist that I rush right over and then they make me wait for hours. One TV actress had me ushered to her hotel in the middle of the night — and then argued with her boyfriend over the phone for an hour.

But in my experience, the worst celebs are the ones teetering on the first step of fame. One star of a reality dating show came with a posse of 10 and wanted everything for free. When she was asked to wait, she screamed, "Do you know who I am?"

Man Tans

Men make up about 30 percent of my clientele. Most of them are straight guys who got dragged along for their girlfriend's appointment and start coming back for their own work. They always want to go superlight, so no one (especially women) will be able to tell. It's a shame they have no sense of subtlety in other areas. Something about being naked in front of a woman on her knees makes most men act like stupid frat boys.

Recently, I had a filthy-rich investment banker come in with his pregnant wife. While I was spraying him (as she waited outside), he ... got excited, as evidenced by his anatomy. The worst part was that he wasn't the least bit embarrassed. It's times like these when I think, What the heck am I doing this for? But then I remind myself: I've got an amazing business that makes women's butts look smaller. How many people can say that?

Trigger happy? A new spray aims to delay amorous men

Brian Alexander writes: Could a quick spritz from a spray bottle make a man a better lover by treating his Quick Draw McGraw syndrome? Maybe.

At the annual meeting of the American Urological Association in San Francisco last week, a company called Shionogi Pharma briefed urologists and sexual medicine experts on test results for a drug called PSD502. “PSD502” may sound like some super-secret breakthrough, but men have been buying similar things from sex shops and the back of skin magazines for decades.

Does “Prolong” sound familiar? How about “Play Longer?” “Mandelay?” (Get it? Man Delay?) “Gibraltar?” As in rock of? Or my personal favorite, “Stud 100”? They’re all some form of cream, spray or wipe designed to numb your penis, which may not sound like something you would pay good money to do, but then maybe you -- or your lover -- do not suffer from premature ejaculation, or P.E.

Up to an estimated 30 percent of men do and P.E. is a real problem. It’s been defined as “ejaculation which is always or nearly always occurs prior to or within one minute of vaginal penetration,” which, as you can imagine, has “negative personal consequences.”

Men have tried everything from rubber bands, to masturbation endurance training (yes, really), to taking anti-depressants (because those drugs have a usually unwanted side effect of delayed ejaculation) to prolong their “latency.” Yet for years sexual medicine for males has been focused on another problem, erectile dysfunction. “It’s been all E.D. all the time,” Dr. Irwin Goldstein, a urologist, founder of San Diego Sexual Medicine and the editor of the Journal of Sexual Medicine, who attended the company’s briefing, told me. “So I’m pretty excited by the whole concept,” of PSD502.

He’s not excited because the concept is new; the drug is just a combination of two common topical painkillers, lidocaine and prilocaine. He’s excited because, finally, such a drug is being rigorously tested in real P.E. sufferers using metered doses rather than Stud 100 users trading anecdotes. And it seems to work. The men in the drug trials were pretty bad off. Before using the spray they lasted about 30 seconds. After spraying the stuff on their glans, and waiting five minutes, the men extended that time to a mean of 3.3 minutes, which may not win any stamina awards but represents a big improvement.

Miss USA runner-up Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard doomed by Arizona immigration law: critics

I say yess! I mean the law is ridiculous. if it was written differently then yeah it would be a good law but the fact that its only directed to one type of race.. is racist.. and people who don't understand that are being played for a fool because it is racist. if the law was directed towards everyone any type of immigrant then yeah.. that's a reason law. I'd like to meet the idiots who wrote and voted for this to pass.

The Miss USA beauty pageant briefly turned ugly over Arizona's tough new immigration law.

Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard finished first runner-up to winner Rima Fakih of Michigan, and conspiracy theorists are grumbling that her support of SB 1070 may have cost her the crown in a repeat of last year's Carrie Prejean controversy.

When "The Office" star Cesar Nunez posed Miss Oklahoma a question about where she stood on Arizona's SB 1070 Sunday night, the crowd erupted in boos over the intrusion of politics, Fox News reported.

"I'm a huge believer in states' rights. I think that's what's so wonderful about America," Woolard answered of the law which requires state police to stop and question possible undocumented immigrants. "So I think it's perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law."

Woolard added that she is against racial profiling.

"Looks like the Miss USA pageant didn't want to risk the wrath of the open-borders mob," wrote conservative blogger Michelle Malkin.

Prejean, last year's Miss California, claimed that answering celebrity judge Perez Hilton's question on gay marriage - the self-proclaimed Christian conservative said she was against it - cost her the 2009 Miss USA title.

This summer’s scents

For summer, picking the right scent is very important. With the heat and humidity, you can’t help but sweat sometimes and you have to be wearing a scent that’s best suited for your body’s chemistry. The most recommended fragrances for the warm days are those that are lively, spirited but not overpowering. Perfume makers know that very well and they have bottles that are great summer companions. Here are some of them:

1. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue–True to its name, this is a very light and feathery scent with fruity notes. The initial contact will burst into a clear lemony scent that slowly develops into bluebells, white rose and jasmine.

2. Givenchy Play Summer Vibrations–The new limited edition summer fragrance from Givenchy vibrates with earthy elements such as cilantro and amyris wood while keeping it cool with splashes of sea spray. It also has citrusy hints.

3. Ralph Lauren Summer Romance–Ultra-feminine and playful, this bottle vamps up the sultriness with key notes of hibiscus, tiare flowers and passionfruit. It has a bold tropical directness that’s perfect for summer getaways.

4. Moschino Couture–This Moschino scent is a great summer option because of its floral and woody notes coupled with a little musk. A little powdery, this refreshing evening fragrance fuses aldehydes and delicate flowers.

5. Michael Kors Island–A traveler’s scent inspired by travels, Island is a light and distinct mixture of Chinese kiwi, Bulgarian rose and honeysuckle. It has an exotic and sunlit vibe that’s great for casual use at resorts during summer.

6. Burberry Summer 2010–Fruity and floral, Burberry’s summer 2010 offering has notes of blackcurrant, pomegranate, mandarin, white peach, freesia, honeysuckle, lily of the valley, rose, cedar, sandalwood and musk.

7. Marc Jacobs Cucumber–This summer-appropriate splash starts with lotus leaf, cactus and the domination of cucumber. It continues with tiger lily, freesia and lime blossom and wraps up with musk and white woods. The clear scent is clean fresh scent that’s light and enduring.

8. Shalimar Light–A classic scent, this edgy marriage of Oriental blends (resins, flowers, vanilla and musk) is light, sparkling and is recommended for casual use. This version of Shalimar is youthful, hip and modern.

9. Narciso Rodriguez Essence–A heart of musk softens the top notes of rose petals and middle notes of amber and iris. The after-impression is sensual and luminous. It’s decidedly floral and airy while being powdery.

10. Tommy Girl–This classic Hilfiger scent is refreshing and energetic. It combines notes of blackcurrant, camelia, mandarin, apple tree blossom, honeysuckle, lily, violet, mint, grapefruit, citrus, green leaves and rose. It’s based on aromas of magnolia, leather, sandalwood, jasmine and cedar.

What you knead to get it on

1. Liver & onions

As Doug’s sister Judy from Nickelodeon’s 1990s cartoon “Doug” so aptly put it, “In order to eat liver and onions, you must become liver and onions!” Although this line exists merely in reference to Doug’s unabated hatred for the food combination, it references the corporal, almost-earthy quality of the dish. While the smooth exterior of the liver meat reminds us of our organs (and genitals), the rustic, pungent odor of the onions, reminds us of the erotic scent of the body. Combine these symbolic qualities with the texture and heated semblance of these foods across your naked partner’s body, and you’ll be ready for a night that’s bound to get physical.

2. Lard

This pig-derived fat concentrate, similar to butter, can be compared erotically to whipped cream or even the crude oil once used in ancient Roman homosocial activities. Mostly consumed in contemporary British cuisine, lard can also be considered akin to the sexiness of a British accent to Americans: foreign, dashing and somehow more culturally cultivated. Even more, the solid form of lard is much like any pocket of skin you might massage during foreplay. So spread it on, spread it around, use it like lube or knead it between your fingers to stimulate your fleshy creativity.

3. Ranch dressing

Stocked with a comparable amount of calories to that of semen, the flavor and consistency of ranch dressing strewn across a salad of phallic vegetation such as baby carrots and celery sticks is sure to do the trick. Nearly crude in its bottled form, once exacted upon a salad, sandwich or naked body of curvature, ranch dressing comes alive for one to lick lustfully, perhaps in lieu of medically risky bodily fluid consumption.

4. Soy dog

The soy dog is the ecoli-free version of the hot dog; not only can it be warmed up in the microwave in a similar fashion to the Pyrex dildo, but it also avoids both the vegetarian’s dilemma as well as any serious bacterial concerns. The soy dog can be used as a teaser (think running its shaft along one’s lips in a seductive manner) or a makeshift sex toy. Remember, though: Don’t let the soy dog become a replacement for your man!

MCT CampusTheez iz chikn wings: hot & tasteeee
5. Chicken wings

Although chicken wings don’t have the same vegan-friendly properties as the soy dog, these superbly acidic and scrumptiously sticky complements to ranch dressing will bring the power and scent of true football-fan masculinity to any bedroom situation. Smear their spicy drizzling sauce on lips for extra-oomph to serious necking or on the inner thigh to make for a tantalizing trail to your lady’s sweet spot.

Fergie Dishes on New Fragrance 'Outspoken;' Thinks Retouching OK 'In Moderation'

another celeb with a fragrance. fergie! i like her tho haha.

The foxy front woman to the Black Eyed Peas looks glamorous on the May cover of Elle and as reported in today's WWD, she doesn't mind a little help from the digital magic wand when it comes to looking good in print.

She came out with a few juicy sound bites at a luncheon to celebrate her Elle cover and promote her upcoming fragrance launch with Avon, called Outspoken by Fergie, which was attended by a fashionable crowd including Whitney Port, Georgina Chapman and Chris Benz, among others.

WWD reports, "I didn't want to call it Dutchess, or Glamorous, or Fergalicious, or something that I've already done," Fergie said of naming her fragrance. "I didn't want it to be so cutesy. I wanted it to be strong and empowering, something that represents me as a whole woman, a fearless woman."

Outspoken, which will be sold via Avon reps beginning in September, was named to honor independence. "From my music to my wardrobe, my style is all about speaking up and making a statement," said Fergie. That's why my first-ever fragrance exudes independence. Outspoken definitely turns heads, but it also lets your true personality shine through." Her husband, Josh Duhamel, on hand for the event, claimed to be a big fan of the scent, but for another reason. "I didn't like what she was wearing before, but I never told her," the actor said. "But this is good. It just works with my nose, I think."

What else came up at lunch?

The singer's stance on all the retouching in magazines and on covers: "Of course, if there's a big roll of flab coming out somewhere that doesn't look flattering, sure, I'd love that to be lessened, but I don't like to look like a cartoon character, either. I think everything in moderation."

You gotta love Fergie's honesty!

Click here for highlights from the article, including Fergie's response to being called "Fugly."

10 Stinky Celebrity Frangrance Names

Kinda interesting article about the names of celeb perfumes... enjoy :]

If we were ever to create our own fragrance (which, incidentally, stay tuned for a BIG announcement) we would call it Number One, Top of the List or Top 10 Scent or something. Luckily, we know better than to try to venture into the murky and musky perfume industry, not like the hapless folks on Woman’s Day’s listicle of 10 Stinky Celebrity Fragrance Names, two of which, incidentally, come courtesy of P. Diddy. We’re surprised they didn’t include 50 Cent’s Power, which, not surprisingly, is much, much too strong.

Beyonce Fragrance "Heat" A Hit For Perfume Sales

It was bond to happen.. I'm not sure if she already has another line out but Beyonice and jay-z are taking over the world! aha jk but not really they are everywhere from vodka. to movies. music, clothes, television and etc!
so no surprises here!

Beyonce Fragrance "Heat" A Hit For Perfume Sales
New York, NY, United States (AHN) - Beyonce has no problem scoring hits on the charts (her latest, a collaboration with Lady Gaga, is currently climbing up the Top 10), and now the singer’s success is translating into major perfume sales. Her first fragrance, “Heat,” is officially yet another hit for the music star.

Beyonce’s perfume only debuted in stores in last month. At the recent Retail & Luxury Goods Conference at Harvard Business School, Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren revealed that its already made more than $3 million in worldwide sales since its launch.

“Heat” was heralded in by an in-store signing and meet and greet with Beyonce at the Macy’s in Herald Square in New York. Lundgren said that 72,000 bottles of her perfume were sold that in that hour.

“Heat” blends a floral mix of magnolias, neroli, and red vanilla orchids with the scent of almond macaroon, honeysuckle, nectar, and crème de musk. Beyonce told WWD that this was the first time she had creative control on a fragrance (she was previously the face of a Tommy Hilfiger scent) and its all her.

“Everything, from the bottle design to the name and the ideas for the commercials — that’s me,” she said. “This was my first fragrance, and I wanted to make sure that it was something I would love forever.”

With demand as high as it is, Beyonce might have to add some more heat to the production line. Trying to pick up a bottle of “Heat” at Macy’s.com estimates over a month before it ships. Ouch. So while fans hopefully aren’t in a hurry to smell like their favorite pop star, she’s helping heat up the celebrity perfume market on her own.

Would You Give Up Fragrance If Your Boss Asked You to?

hii :D
hope everyone had a good weekend! so this week for fragrance i thought i would do something different like maybe which smells attract people.. blah blah blah things of that sort but just my luck today i cant find any.. plus I'm sick so my search was pretty short. anyways found this article.. hopefully its a good one. haha

Would You Give Up Fragrance If Your Boss Asked You to?

I wear fragrance every day. I've tried to stop spraying it in front of my colleagues (especially in the lift) but obviously in this industry it's as necessary to my working environment as pens and paper is to yours. Which means I could never go and work in Detroit. Damn. Turns out, after a woman received a US$100,000 settlement because her colleague's perfume made it "challenging" to do her job, they think it's easiest if they just ban the wearing of all "colognes, aftershave lotions, perfumes, deodorants, body/face lotions ... (and) the use of scented candles, perfume samples from magazines, spray or solid air fresheners." Sure. Let's just hope that those Detroit ladies aren't as addicted to their Miss Dior Cherie as me, or they're going to have a mass walkout on their hands. Would you give up fragrance if your job depended on it?

Yet another Celeb to have their own fragrance line. but yeah i like Jen aniston so we"ll see still haven't gone to see how the Kim kardashian perfume smells but I'll get around to it.. short and sweet. just how i like it.

Jennifer Aniston is the latest celebrity to want to market perfume under her name. It is doubtful she will be the last. It is reported that Jennifer Aniston has been working on this project for two years and is deciding on a name for the project. The idea to call the product Aniston did not get the approval of advertising executives. When the name is finally decided upon, Jennifer Aniston wants to release some commercials on television. Rihanna is in the midst of involving her fans in the decision of what to name her fragrance. A sort of contest giving her fans input.

The name of Echo has surfaced as a possible substitution for Aniston. Jennifer Aniston has fierce competition in the fragrance field with such celebrities as Reese Witherspoon, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez and others marketing their own brands of fragrances.

Much study goes into the names to use in marketing fragrances, sometimes successful, sometimes not too successful. It is surprising how many people are swayed by having the name of a celebrity on a bottle of perfume or other items. This is why it requires a lengthy study before deciding under what name to market celebrity products.

Your Chemical Romance

I apologize now this is a long article it just caught my attention because it kinda reminds me of my current status with a certain someone. so again if its too long feel free to tune out and next week I'll keep it short..hopefully there will be more news on this topic.

What is love? What attracts two people together? Why is love like a drug, giving us a natural high that is so addictive? Why do we fixate and obsess on the ones we love? Why are relationships all about passion at first, then about tenderness in the long run? Why the afterglow?

And why do men see sex as a stress-reliever when, on the other hand, women don’t want to have anything to do with it when they’re stressed out? And, for all the lonely singles out there, how can we achieve the same sensations that love brings without a romantic partner? Science has the answer to all these.

Researchers have broken down attraction, passion, obsession, ecstasy, tenderness and fidelity into their chemical components: pheromones, phenylethylamine, norepinephrine, dopamine, oxytocin and endorphins, respectively.

Pheromones and attraction
Pheromones, partly responsible for sexual attraction, are chemicals that the body releases into the atmosphere to subconsciously communicate information about one’s self.

Pheromones can communicate when an animal is fertile or virile. Humans, like other animals, have evolved to communicate this information since it makes sense to copulate for reproductive purposes only when a female is fertile and a male virile. Pheromones are the reason why women, when in close proximity to one another for long periods of time, begin to sync their menstruation, which scientists postulate levels the playing field among females competing for male suitors who approach the same group. (Women, as ever, are so competitive.)

Androstadienone, a pheromone produced by men, triggers among women higher levels of cortisol, a hormone that the body produces to prepare it for intense physical action, be it flight, fight or sex. However, cortisol is also known as the “stress hormone” and having it elevated when one is already fatigued or harassed is most unwelcome. This is why women do not want to have anything to do with men’s sexual advances when they are stressed out. (Men, on the other hand, benefit from sex as a physical outlet for their stress.)

Pheromones can even communicate what individual characteristics a creature may possess. In experiments conducted by Professor Martha McClintock at the University of Chicago, women preferred the smell of men who was genetically similar, but not too similar, to their fathers. In an interview with CNN’s medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, McClintock explains that procreating with a man who is too different “leads to the loss of desirable gene combinations” while “mating with someone too similar might lead to inbreeding.”

In humans, pheromones are produced in the axilla (armpit). However, pheromones are not to be confused with bromhidrosis (body odor), which is caused by bacteria digesting the sweat in one’s moist, hot and hairy axilla. Sweat and pheromones are themselves odorless.

Only members of the same species respond to respective pheromones, hence musk perfumes derived from glands of animals do not work for humans (unless one is into bestial affairs with musk deer). Furthermore, several extensive studies, including one entitled "Pheromones and Animal Behavior: Communication by Smell and Taste"(Wyatt, Tristram D.), have found no evidence that body sprays marketed as aphrodisiacs based on human pheromones influence human behavior, specifically attraction and copulation.

Phenylethylamine and passion
Phenylethylamine (PEA), a stimulant that accelerates the reaction of nerve cells, is produced by the body and can be found in certain foods, most notably chocolate. Researchers have found that the body increases production of phenylethylamine when one is sexually attracted.

In his book The Science of Love: Understanding Love and Its Effects on Mind and Body, author Anthony Walsh notes the stimulant’s narcotic effect: “Love is a natural high. PEA gives you that silly smile that you flash at strangers. When we meet someone who is attractive to us, the whistle blows at the PEA factory.”

However, like any drug, the body’s sensitivity to it wanes with constant exposure. After developing a craving for phenylethylamine, one needs greater amounts just to get the same high. Though chocolate contains high amounts of phenylethylamine, ingesting it does not boost the body’s own natural supply.

Scientists have observed that after about three years, the phenylethylamine increase a particular lover may provoke in one’s body may wane, hence the loss of passion. Only a new stimulus for phenylethylamine—a new lover—can produce the longed-for high.

Norepinephrine and obsession
Norepinephrine, like cortisol, is a “stress hormone” that the body produces to ready muscles for action, be it flight, fight or sex. It signals the body to increase production of adrenaline.

Specifically, norepinephrine is necessary for the mind’s ability to maintain attention and focus. It is responsible for one’s devotion or obsession to one’s beau.

Norepinephrine, along with dopamine, is often prescribed for sufferers of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to heighten their alertness and prolong their attention span.

Dopamine and ecstasy
Dopamine is neurotransmitter produced by the body that is responsible for feelings of intense pleasure, the “natural high” and the “afterglow.” In particular, it surges during orgasm.

Dopamine is essential in ingraining behavior that is beneficial to the body (such eating, hydration, relaxation, intense exercise and sex) by rewarding it with a sense of pleasure.

Harmful narcotics create addiction by exploiting the body’s natural behavioral reward system. Abused over time, the body’s sensitivity to dopamine wanes, hence the need or ever-increasing dosages to achieve the same high.

A shortage of dopamine is also the cause of Parkinson’s Disease, which deprives a person of smooth controlled movements.

Like phenylethylamine and norepinephrine, the dopamine increases that a lover may stimulate in one’s body may wane after repeated and prolonged exposure.

Oxytocin and tenderness
Oxytocin is a hormone that stimulates uterine contraction for pregnant women and lactation for breastfeeding mothers. Oxytocin is responsible for bonding mothers to their children for life.
It makes them want to snuggle their baby affectionately. Just as importantly, it also is responsible for feelings of intimacy and tenderness between sexual partners.

Though this hormone is associated with orgasms, simple hugs, kisses and displays of affection and moments of tenderness also produce the same amounts of oxytocin.

Unlike phenylethylamine, norepinephrine and dopamine whose effects wane in time, oxytocin effects remain constant, allowing affectionate couples to stay true instead of stray.

Endorphins and fidelity
Endorphins, like dopamine, are neurotransmitters that facilitate the transmission of data along the nerves. Specifically, endorphins, allow the body to ignore and endure pain, imbuing one with sense of calm and peace.

This naturally produced painkiller acts much like morphine but without addictive side effects. It is responsible for the “runner’s high,” which occurs when athletes surpass their threshold of pain to attain new heights of physical exertion and are rewarded by the body with a feeling elation. Relaxation techniques such as massages, yoga and acupuncture as well as certain foods such as hot chilies and chocolate also stimulate endorphin release.

Most importantly, having a constant loving companion gradually increases production of endorphins in the body, rewarding fidelity as a behavior.

Anthropologist Helen Fisher, author of Anatomy of Love, explains, “That is one reason why it feels so horrible when we’re abandoned or a lover dies. We don’t have our daily hit of narcotics.”

Unlike stimulants with fleeting effects such as phenylethylamine, norepinephrine and dopamine, relaxants such as endorphins and oxytocin have constant, lasting benefits that allow loving couples to stay true for the rest of their lives. Lovers choose which kind of natural high they prefer.

what did you do?

Well this post is a little late. but I'm curious as to how you all spent your Valentines day! i didn't do anything special , or romantic. but still I'm sure someone out there is dying to tell us what they did and I'm hear to listen here is a short article on the the topic. to keep us busy while we awaiting some responses.

Valentine’s Day is here! What are you guys doing on this special day? You know valentine is not only about couples, it is also about friends and family and all the people you love. Even if you are single you can still spend Valentine’s Day with your girlfriends, it’s all about the love, all kinds of love.

To some people Valentine’s Day is about exchanging gifts with the person they are in love with but remember it’s the thought that counts and not the material, sometimes sweet and thoughtful words are more than enough. People sometimes get married on Valentine’s Day, which I find so romantic and clever.

To me Valentine’s Day is special because it also happens to be my mother’s Birthday! My mom is my valentine and it suits her that her b-day is on this special day because valentine is all about love and my mom has lots of love to give. I want to wish my mother a happy birthday and everybody else a happy Valentine’s Day.

What are you guys doing on Valentine’s Day and how special is this day for you?

tweets for valentines??

Yeah i dunno about this and the article is super long.. i read the first two lines or so and it didn't really catch my attention. so yeah good look haha and I'm sorry for posting this but i thought it would be appropriate since we ( well most of us) tweet and valentines day is on Sunday.

On Twitter the marketing frenzy begun a few days ago, but only recently “V-Day” became an active trend. Tweets like “Make your love sing, give your honey V-Day bling.” followed by links to sites that “sell” the bling are as frequent as those that inquire about Valentine’s Day the movie. Will it be worthwhile, will it be a flop and more importantly, will you go to see it on Valentine’s?

As any other trend, “V-Day” is a blessing for marketers, and a major annoyance for some – let’s call them more skeptical – users. But the fact that the vast majority is interested in Valentine’s Day ideas remains. This is an opportunity for all companies to boost sales numbers via Twitter.

For those with a strong Twitter presence, followed by thousands, marketing becomes easy: the right tweet with the right link and the right hashtag gets picked up and retweeted. The message becomes viral, in real time, and it’s also displayed by Google on its “real time” results on the first page of the search engine. Marketing on Twitter these days has a further reach than a press release – in fact, for such situations, press releases become obsolete.

The easiest way to maximize V-Day exposure would be to create an appealing landing page and then to tweet about it. Writing compelling tweets is an art, as you will see.

A tweet like “Sortprice Rolls Out Valentines Day Gift Guide and Top Ten Romantic Gifts” is cold, and it lacks user focus. The media on Twitter is highly social, the users like to know that they are treated as individuals with identity and not as a mass of consumers. Same goes for “74% of the US eats out on V-Day. Get 80% off every order at Restaurant.com” – but given the high numbers you can expect that Restaurant.com will attract many visits these days.

Another good strategy is to offer to the V-Day shoppers as many freebies as possible: “Your one-stop #V-Day #shop! Receive #FreeShipping, Free #TeddyBear, #FreeCard, #Rose #Jewelry Box. Use code freebear.”

On the other hand, the following tweet is a no-no: “Still looking for the perfect gift for V-Day. Check out our huge selection of earphones and headphones.” What can be less romantic on Valentine’s than a headphone?

Another bad strategy: “V-Day Fragrance Sale. Coupon LOVEVAL £3 discount when You spend 30£ Valentine’s Day FREE WORLDWIDEdelivery” – despite the discount and the free delivery offered to the purchaser, the message is focused on selling and not on providing a real value to the customer.

Maymont on the other hand has the right focus: “Maymont Mansion has many symbols of love. Visitors this Sunday will be treated to a special Love Tour!”

So don’t focus on selling everything these days – show your customers that you understand their values. Come on, people, nobody wants a wireless mouse for Valentine’s! V-Day is about love and what makes people feel in love, appreciated and pampered. So make it special, even in your sales tweets and in the message you send across the social media. And if you have nothing to offer, just wish your customers a Happy Valentine’s Day. They will appreciate this more than V-Day spam!

The Situation. Can you handle it?

Okay Okay we all watched or at lest have heard of the Jerseys shore correct? well i just found this very interesting article on mike" the situation" is coming out with his own Cologne ohhh mann! seriously these ppl are just milking it for all they got.. but i have to say there will a new season of Jersey Shore i 'll be looking forward too.
keep reading for more info. mann mtv just cant write this stuff.

I can’t decide which element of this-just-in ridiculata is the worst: 1) Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino was Access Hollywood’s red carpet correspondent at last night’s Grammys 2) The Situation’s new fragrance will be called Sitch, or 3) The Situation’s suit in this picture. (Bunching, or just happy to see us? Discuss.) I can never go back to a purer state of not knowing any of these things, and since I’m a miserable excuse for a human being who sometimes refuses to suffer in silence, now neither can you.

In other horrifying-but-hypnotic news, the entire Jersey Shore cast appeared on the Today Show this morning to talk about moving somewhere warm for season 2 and thoroughly confuse Meredith Viera about what the hell is going on in pop culture — even after a lengthy video recap during which the voiceover said, incredulously, “that’s Nicole Polizzi, nicknamed Snooki. She was even punched in the face this season!”

Certainly vote below. I’m interested in The Situation’s staying power. And I hate myself for typing this, but my relationship with the name “Sitch” for a fragrance is so love/hate that it may as well be love.

Can you handle The Situation?
Yeah, he's amusing

Hell to the no!

Zoe saldana named the new face of avons ' enternal magic"

oooo i loved her in guess who, center stage and avatar> and i happen to think shes prety damn gorgeous.. enjoy this short article!

January 13, 2010 | 11:32 am
You may not have recognized her as the 10-foot, bright-blue warrior princess Na'vi in James Cameron's sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar," but statuesque Hollywood starlet Zoe Saldana is otherwise hard to miss.

And come April, she'll be even more visible -- as the face of Avon's newest fragrance, Eternal Magic, which, according to the company press release, “takes inspiration from the rare Princess Monaco Rose.”

The 31-year-old actress, who's been floating around Hollywood for a decade starring in endearing movies such as "Center Stage" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Star Trek," also will be featured in Avon's brochure as a face of the company's cosmetics collections.

This is the actress' first major endorsement deal (and "Avatar" is her first billion-dollar movie). She also joins the illustrious ranks of past Avon spokesmodels, which include Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Hudson. Looks like the tide has finally turned for the talented screen siren.
